CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Belmont Village Senior Living and Baptist Health South Florida have unveiled plans for Belmont Village Coral Gables, a mixed-use seniors housing community in Coral Gables, just southwest of downtown Miami.
The Coral Gables City Commission approved the project unanimously, and groundbreaking is scheduled for this fall. The 10-story community will offer 232 units of independent living, assisted living and memory care, along with 18,388 square feet of ground-floor retail and commercial space.
“As strategic and capital partners with Baptist Health South Florida, our joint venture was created to re-imagine the integration of hospitality and healthcare in seniors housing with Coral Gables being our first in a series of communities planned for the region,” says Patricia Will, co-founder and CEO of Belmont Village Senior Living, which owns and operates 31 senior living communities nationwide and in Mexico City.
Corwil Architects designed the property, which Moss Construction Management will build. Bapitst Health will operate a Healthy Living Center on the ground floor. A shopping center is located directly across the street for additional amenities.
Belmont Village Coral Gables is the first in a series of communities planned by Baptist Health South Florida and Houston-based Belmont Village. Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale, a new luxury senior living community approximately 30 miles north, is scheduled to open to residents early this summer.
