WOODBURY, Minn. — Ryan Cos. US Inc., Great Lakes Management and Artemis Real Estate Partners have broken ground on Talamore Senior Living Woodbury, a 200-unit seniors housing community in Woodbury, just east of St. Paul. Talamore Woodbury will be a four-story, 245,00-square-foot senior living community with 90 independent living units, 70 assisted living units, 26 memory care units and 14 care suites. Callahan Starts Construction of 83,000 SF The Mariner Community in Marblehead, Massachusetts

MARBLEHEAD, Mass. — Callahan Construction Managers has broken ground on The Mariner in Marblehead, located on the coastal North Shore area near Boston. The 83,000 square foot, three-story building will feature 61 assisted living units and 26 memory care units, with a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. The Northbridge Cos., in partnership with the local development team of Heather Cairns, Michael Lafayette and Philip Helmes, is developing the building with EGA serving as the architect. The project is scheduled for completion in February 2023.

Smith Senior Living Completes $23M Skilled Nursing Modernization at CCRC in Chicago

CHICAGO — Smith Senior Living has completed a $23 million modernization at Smith Village, a continuing care retirement community in Chicago’s Morgan Park neighborhood. The project quadruples the number of private suites and rooms for rehabilitation and skilled nursing care residents by reducing its licensed beds to 78 from 100. Smith also built a three-story addition that houses therapy areas and dining rooms. AHEPA Management Receives HUD Financing for Two Affordable Developments in Midwest

DES MOINES, Iowa, and SOUTH BEND, Ind. — AHEPA Affordable Housing Management Co. (AMC) has received two HUD Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly program grant awards totaling $16.7 million to support the development of two new affordable seniors housing communities. The award for the 100-unit Des Moines project is $8.9 million. MIRAMAR, Fla. — Catholic Health Services (CHS) and Atlantic Pacific Communities have broken ground on Casa Sant’Angelo, an affordable seniors housing community in the Miami suburb of Miramar. The mid-rise building offers 113 one- and two-bedroom units. Units are reserved for residents age 62 or older who earn between 30 percent and 80 percent of area median income. Port One, Tiderock Plan $190M Community in Metro Boston

HOLBROOK, Mass. — Port One Cos. and Tiderock Cos. have formed a partnership to develop a 410-unit seniors housing community on a 48-acre parcel in Holbrook, approximately 15 miles south of Boston. The estimated budget for this project is $190 million. The developers are under contract to acquire the site for $19 million. Tiderock will provide operational support and oversight including but not limited to project management, marketing, budgeting, product mix, and review of and negotiations for limited partner equity and debt. Brightview Opens 170-Unit Community in Columbia, Maryland

COLUMBIA, Md. — Brightview Senior Living has opened Brightview Columbia in Columbia, approximately midway between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. The community, Brightview’s 45th, features 91 independent living units, 53 assisted living units and 26 memory care units. Brightview Columbia was designed with a nod to Athol Manor, a historic property within walking-distance of the community. Brightview restored the manor and revitalized the adjacent Manor Park. Athol Manor was gifted by Brightview to the Community Foundation of Howard County.

BEAUMONT, Texas — The City of Beaumont Housing Authority, in partnership with Brinshore Development, has selected Cadence McShane Construction Co. to build Century Heights, an active adult community in Beaumont, located near the Louisiana border east of Houston. The property will feature 200 units on a 6.8 acre plot.The four-story low-rise will feature four different unit configurations, varying between one- and two-bedroom apartments. Steinberg Dickey Collaborative is serving as project architect. Completion of the project is slated for the end of 2022.
