Charter Names New Executives at Two Communities in the Midwest

SYLVANIA, Ohio, and FOX LAKE, Ill. — Charter Senior Living has named a new executive director for its community in Fox Lake, as well as the executive team for its first-ever ground-up development in Sylvania.

The company named Sue Johnson as executive director and Amy Klosterman as director of marketing and sales for Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings in Sylvania, scheduled to open this October. The 60-unit community will offer assisted living and memory care.

As a licensed administrator, Johnson has held executive director roles at several senior living communities in Ohio, New Jersey and California. She also was a regional vice president of operations in Ohio for a company that provided memory loss rehabilitative services. A veteran of the US Navy, Johnson received her bachelor’s degree in long-term care administration from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

Klosterman comes to Charter Senior Living after 16 years as community relations director for Kingston Residence of Sylvania. She received her bachelor’s degree in health and human services from the University of Toledo.

In Fox Lake, Charter named Alda Tole as executive director of Cottages of Fox Lake, which offers assisted living and memory care. Prior to joining Charter Senior Living, Tole was the director of sales at Bright Oaks of Aurora, another assisted living and memory care community. She also spent time in sales roles with Sunrise Senior Living.

Based in Chicago, Charter Senior Living operates 12 senior living communities throughout the U.S., offering independent living, assisted living and memory care services, with an additional five senior living communities in development.
