VERO BEACH, Fla. — Watercrest Senior Living Group has promoted Chris Shepherd to vice president of creative program development. Shepherd starts his new role while also supporting the opening of a new assisted living and memory care community, Pelican Landing.
Shepherd joined Watercrest in December 2013 as a program director previously serving both assisted living and skilled nursing residents with life enrichment programming. In his previous role as director of creative programming for Watercrest, Shepherd created educational initiatives with Rollins College’s STARS program and the Baptist Theological Seminary. He also initiated a partnership with Central Florida Community Arts in establishing the Musical Minds Choir, a performance group for individuals experiencing early memory loss and their care partners.
In his new role, Shepherd will continue to develop community partnerships and programs across all of Watercrest’s communities.
Watercrest Senior Living, located in Vero Beach, specializes in the development and operations of assisted living and memory care communities. The company has nearly a dozen communities currently under development nationwide.
