(NYSE: HCN), the largest healthcare real estate investment trust (REIT) in the United States by market cap, and Hines, an international real estate firm, have announced plans for a 15-story assisted living and memory care community at the corner of 56th Street and Lexington Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — National Health Investors Inc. (NYSE: NHI), a Murfreesboro-based REIT, has exercised a purchase option on five assisted living and memory care communities currently owned and operated by Bickford Senior Living, a Kansas-based operator. The purchase price was $87.5 million.

CYPRESS, Texas — The National Realty Grouop (TNRG) and MedCore Partners will break ground later this month on Spring Cypress Assisted Living and Memory Care, an 80-unit assisted living and memory care facility in Cypress, approximately 30 miles northwest of Houston.
PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — Senior Lifestyle Corp. has cut the ribbon on The Addison of Pleasant Prairie, a 100-unit assisted living and memory care community in Pleasant Prairie, located on the Illinois border approximately midway between Chicago and Milwaukee.
